This is the declaration made by every person who has turned from their sin to follow Jesus as Savior and Lord. As such, Christians set their mind on things above (v1-4) . We put away the old life, killing the flesh (v5-9) , and we put on the new life, surrounding ourselves with attitudes and actions that make us like Christ (v10-17) . The result is that in our various spheres of life—marriage (v18-19) , parenting (v20-21) , and work (v22-4:1) —Christ is put on display as we seek to do all things for His glory and not our own.
